Seeing Warmth

As frigid weather descends upon much of the U.S., I thought it might be appropriate to post a few photos I made last evening. These photos are of flames in my fireplace, dancing wildly to a tune only they can hear. They make a fascinating study in the variety of absract forms they take when a moment’s flickering is captured in still life. I hope you enjoy them.

I worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 27 years in the field of rural community and economic development. I retired a few years ago and have been devoting my time to photography and writing. I've been a semi-pro photographer for more than 25 years and sell my work on the Web. I live in rural Virginia not far from the Shenandoah Valley.
